Oakland University's Student Program Board (SPB) is a team of 10 driven, well-rounded students who plan and host high quality campus events on a large budget. These events are diverse, trendy, and fun for all students at Oakland University. However, it was evident that SPB's brand identity and logo were not reflective of the board.
OLD LOGO

The main issue with SPB’s previous logo is that it is too blocky, as it uses the organizations full name. Its style leans too far into corporate territory. Typically, for organizations that host events like SPB, their logos are monograms which only use the acronym. SPB’s logo needs to portray the organization’s core values and personality which would be attractive to college students. This would allow for easier recognition of the organization and the establishment of a better brand identity.
NEW LOGO

The new logo was designed to embody the core elements of SPB's events: diversity, entertainment, and modernity. It is simple, condensed and versatile, allowing it to be used in both print material and digital marketing. Since most of the students know Student Program Board as "SPB," the new logo will be easily recognized around campus.
